The property
The Penthouse has a light and airy style with contemporary décor sourced through one of the island’s top interior design companies as well as several key items brought over from the UK. The beds are of hotel standard with linens from The White Company. The bathroom ensuites are all finished in travertine marble and complemented with white porcelain fittings and chrome accessories. The kitchen is kitted out with everything one could need for fine dining at home – right down to lobster “tool kits”. All rooms have their own individually controlled aircon units and ceiling fans. |
Staying in
If you are after a lazy, do-nothing holiday then The Penthouse offers plenty of scope for sun-lounging, reading in the shade, lounging in or by the roof top pool – where you can aimlessly gaze out over the Caribbean or you might want to just sit in the Spa pool and be pampered by champagne style bubbles. Eating in, either during the day or in the evening is a very genteel experience with the lower terrace hosting a six-seat dining table, BBQ grill and 30 bottle wine fridge. In the lounge area is a 42” plasma screen complete with satellite TV and combined DVD and video player. The local video shop in Holetown has a well stocked library of current and classic films and TV series. |
Going outThe island has so much to offer. During the day there is golf, Watersports, nature walks, heritage and cultural attractions, seasonal sporting events such as Polo, cricket and rugby and of course plenty of great places to lunch. On Sundays, most of the hotels and some of the restaurants do fabulous all-day brunch buffets. Sandy Lane is the obvious but expensive choice but for a real Bajan experience head inland to Naniki’s. In the evening things get interesting. The restaurants along the west coast are excellent as are a selected few along the south coast. Mannie’s across the road is a must on a Monday evening for the transvestite extravaganza “Mannequins in motion”!!! |
